FAQ'S

Do you work on-site?

Yes.  All services that are on-location will be at the discretion of the client, but there are certain requirements the makeup artists need to complete the services. A 5’x5’ area will be required for each makeup artist.  Ample lighting, whether by means of natural light or by lamp is necessary for service to be performed properly.  

Do you provide in-salon services?

Yes. Our salon is located at 625 S. Front Street, Mankato, MN. 56001 

Are there travel fee's?

Yes.  All travel fees are calculated to an exact distance from our salon located at 625 S. Front Street, Mankato, MN, 56001, to the on-site location address where services will take place. All locations require a rate of 65.5 cents per mile, round trip, paid to each working artist. 

Do you provide trial sessions?

Yes. If you are a bride, it is strongly recommended to ensure you will be happy with the outcome and help the day of the event go much smoother.

How long does a trial take?

We normally allot for 1 to 2 hours per service depending on the look requested.

What should I bring to the trial?

Please bring any pictures of makeup looks would would like to try.  Please have a clean face with no makeup.

When do you recommend scheduling a trial session?

We recommend 4 to 6 weeks before your event. However, we can do it sooner if requested. Trials are scheduled Monday through Thursday due to our weekends being busy with other clients. Although we do make exceptions.

What if I don't like the outcome of my trial?

One thing we don't want you to be is unhappy with your results. We encourage you to not be shy in speaking up so we know exactly what you are looking for and can tweak anything that needs to be. If it is necessary to schedule a second trial, we can do so. Additional fees may apply.

Can anyone in my party have a trial?

Absolutely. They would be required to purchase a trial session for any additional fee. Please contact us for pricing.

Are pets allowed at my appointment?

We love pets! However if any of our artisan's are allergic or uncomfortable, we will let you know upon arrival.

How long will services take on the day of the event?

Services are generally 1 hour per service depending on the makeup look. Partial applications take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes.

Do you have a minimum or maximum amount of people?

It depends on the location, amount of artists needed and services performed. We can discuss this when going over the details of your event.

Do you have additional staff if I have a large party or a limited time frame?

Yes. We have plenty of artists to ensure you will be completed with your services in the allotted time frame. There may be additional charges if any artist would have less than 3 clients.

What are your booking and payment procedures?

Your date will be secured when the signed contract and a 50% deposit are received. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. 

 
Balance of payment will be due 2 weeks prior to your event to help keep your big day stress-free. 

 
We do ask that should there be a need to adjust or cancel any of the appointments, all changes are made 2 weeks prior to the date of the event. 

What is your cancellation policy?

Should a client cancel the booked event or any service on a contract, the deposit will not be refunded or transferred. If makeup artist cancels at any time or is unable to perform their duties for any reason, the deposit will be fully refunded.  

What if someone is late or a no call/no show?

Due to potential scheduling conflicts, if any person is not available and/or causes a delay of 15 minutes or more, his or her makeup application may be cancelled (at the sole discretion of Shea Elegonce) and any appointment monies are non-refunded.

What about parking fees?

Where valet or parking fees may be incurred, the client will handle the parking cost the day services are provided.

What are your sanitation and liability practices?

All makeup, tools and work area are kept sanitary and are sanitized between every makeup application. Makeup products used are hypoallergenic. Any skin condition should be reported by the client to the makeup artist prior to application and if need be, a sample test of makeup may be performed on the skin to test reaction. Client(s) agree to release Shea Elegonce from liability for any skin complications due to allergic reaction.
